My wife, Lynn, and I have had the privilege of serving the Ocean City Baptist Church since January 1, 1979. We came to start a year-round congregation with 16 members. We have watched God bring a multitude of people to our church over the years. Many have become members, while many come year after year to visit us in Ocean City. We truly love the folks who worship with us.

Our church has steadily grown over the years. Today we worship in two separate locations. We have been limited in our growth by the size of our facilities and have added extra worship services as well as extra Sunday School classes. We have renovated our downtown Ocean City location and added classroom space. But in 1998 we were given 17 acres of land in West Ocean City and we purchased an extra 10 acres on which we have built a Christian School and added a worship site for our congregation.

Our ministries include a very effective crisis ministry for the community, a Retreat Center for retreats and conferences, and an extensive Resort ministry to the summer visitors and workers in Ocean City and the surrounding communities.

Fran Meyer directs our crisis ministry and works closely with the other churches in Ocean city, as well as community and civic organizations. She also assists local government agencies in helping persons in crisis.

Lynn Davis, serves with the North American Mission Board and the Baptist Convention of Maryland and Delaware to provide a ministry to the beaches and campgrounds of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware. She invites between 15 and 30 Youth Mission Teams from all across the Eastern United States to come to Ocean City to provide children's programs, youth ministries, and family services in several campgrounds, the beach, and the local churches.

We serve in a wonderful location that grows from about 10,000 year-round residents to 350,000 plus people in the summer months. We believe God has blessed us uniquely in Ocean City. We love sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the thousands of visitors who come into our town and we want to invite you to join us whenever you are visiting Ocean City.

This Summer has been a wonderful experience. We had a great team of Summer Missionaries working with Central Atlantic Leisure Ministries. The International Student Ministries was a tremendous success with Monday night dinners serving between 250 and 500 students every Monday. The Friday Night Coffee House "Sacred Grounds" was unbelievable. We averaged around 200 students every Friday from 9:00 pm to Midnight. Besides being lots of fun, we met hundreds of college students from dozens of countries around the world. Several of these young people became regulars on Sunday mornings as well. And then there was the Lifeguard ministry. We met most of the life guards this summer and had some great discussions at our Tuesday night Bible study "SEARCH". Lynn Davis has done a super job with the Resort ministries and our church was greatly blessed by the many ministries CALM helps to do. I am looking forward to next summer with great anticipation.
